FAQs
Please contact us if you need any further information!
Can I just turn up without a booking?

No, please make a booking prior to bringing your racket to us.

This is to ensure you don't have a wasted journey as we don't operate as a shop and so business is by appointment only.

Where are you based?

Our workshop is at our residential premises in Morley, Leeds, and there is ample free, roadside parking available.

We are only a few minutes drive away from both the M62 and M621; and just up the road from the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Morley Train Station is also only a 5-minute walk away.

How do I get my racket to you?

Drop off at our premises, and collect your racket once you have had confirmation of completion.

What rackets do you re-string?

We currently offer tennis re-stringing only due to demand, however we will consider squash and racquetball rackets by individual request if we have availability.

How often should I get my tennis racket re-strung?

See our Guide.

Basically, once the strings lose their tension. An indicator is when the strings suddenly feel like they have lost their control and you start to hit 'out' more than usual.

Typically a racket should be re-strung as many times in a year as you play tennis in a week. So if you play tennis twice a week, it is recommended to re-string your racket every 6 months.

How much does a full re-string cost?

From £20; we have strings to suit all budgets; from solid cost-effective to premium options.

Can I provide my own string, and just pay for re-stringing?

We will consider this on an individual basis depending on supplied string and racket. However, we do prefer to use our own strings wherever possible as there is a risk of breakage during the process.

How long does a re-string take?

We aim to re-string all rackets within 48 hours (two working days) from receipt of the racket but will confirm the estimated stringing time with each individual enquiry.

Note we don't offer a 'wait while we string' service.

What machine do you use?

We use 6-point stringing machines which secure the rackets' frames evenly and ensures minimum stress on the rackets during the stringing process.

We pull tension through a Wise 2086 Electronic Professional Tension Head; this is a professional quality machine with electronic speed control, constant pull, linear gripper, pre-stretch, and a digital readout.

It is accurate to 0.1 lbs (!) and helps us provide our professional, high-quality and consistent tennis re-stringing service.

How do I pay?

We accept Cash or Bank Transfer, with payment due upon completion when collecting the racket.

Which strings should I choose?

Different strings have strengths and best selection will depend on your tennis ability, playing style and whether you are susceptible to injuries like tennis elbow.

See our String Guide for details.

What tension should I select?

Different tensions can drastically change the feel of a racket, the good news is you can select a tension to help enhance specific characteristics:

- Low tensions; provide more power but less control
- Mid tensions; provide medium power, feel, and control
- High tensions; provide more spin and control, but less power

If you're not sure, then a good place to start is your racket's recommended mid-tension point.

We are happy to discuss both your string and tension selection, and then make a suggestion to suit your game.

See out Tension Guide for details.

Can I get a refund if my string breaks immediately upon use?

We are happy to investigate if a string was to break immediately upon use. If we feel that it is down to a flaw in the string, or the service we have provided, then we are more than happy to rectify the problem. However we do not offer refunds.

Can a racket in any condition be re-strung?

No, we review the condition of all rackets before re-stringing, as those with visible cracks cannot be re-strung. The pressure the re-stringing process puts upon the frame can cause damaged frames to buckle.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, as long as you cancel your order before we have started the re-stringing process this is no problem and free of charge.

However if any service from us has been used at the time of cancellation, then that aspect only would still be chargeable.
